Paul and Carol Ann Coughlin turned a 120-acre beef farm into this Stanfordville distillery, still pouring from the original stone barn.
Paul and Carol Ann Coughlin bought this 120-acre former beef farm in 2010, about ten miles from the Millerton hunting club where Paul had been a regular for years while he was still working in finance. They spent the first two years running everything from the farm's 600-square-foot barn, distilling and bottling in a space barely bigger than a two-car garage. Demand eventually pushed them to build the five-thousand-square-foot facility standing today, anchored by a continuous column still shipped from Vendome Copper & Brass Works in Louisville.
The tasting room keeps the barn's original stone walls and big windows.
