Wassaic Project
Wassaic Project is a seven-story grain elevator gallery in Wassaic where you climb floor by floor to see experimental work by emerging artists.
The Wassaic Project began in 2008 when Williams College friends Bowie Zunino and Eve Biddle threw a one-summer art festival at Maxon Mills, a grain elevator Zunino's father and Richard Berry had recently restored. That single festival became a year-round nonprofit built on the conviction that good art doesn't require a city address. Elan Bogarin and Jeff Barnett-Winsby joined as co-founders.
The space itself is 8,000 square feet spread across seven stories of a former grain elevator, with exhibitions arranged floor by floor.
