Diamond Notch Falls is a pair of waterfalls side by side, each dropping about 15 feet, fed by the West Kill where it cuts through Diamond Notch on the edge of the Hunter-West Kill Wilderness. Keep climbing toward the top of the notch and a break in the trees opens onto the Burroughs Range: Wittenberg, Cornell, and Slide, with Table and Peekamoose mountains visible behind them on a clear day.
How far you walk depends on which trailhead you pick. From Spruceton Road it's an easy two miles round trip, fine for kids or a first Catskill hike.
