Outhouse Orchards sits on a hillside above Croton Falls and has been a fall tradition in North Salem for well over a century. A straightforward pick-your-own visit for apples and pumpkins turns into a full day's worth of activity once the season picks up: a corn maze with a map and a crossword-puzzle option for kids who want a real challenge, hayrides with live entertainment, bounce houses, duck races, steer lassoing, bubble stations, and hay bales to climb. The whole place is built for the long afternoon, not a quick basket-and-go visit.
The orchard grows multiple apple varieties for both eating and baking.
