Goosepond Mountain State Park in Chester offers mostly unmarked trails on 1,558 acres along an abandoned paved road called Lazy Hill Road.
Goosepond Mountain State Park, managed by the Palisades Interstate Park Commission, stays almost entirely undeveloped. Lazy Hill Road winds roughly north-south through the park as the main hiking spine, an old paved road now closed to cars. Narrower, mostly unmarked trails branch off throughout, while the Highlands Trail is the only regularly blazed route. A short boardwalk section near the wetland gives an easy, accessible stretch for anyone who'd rather skip the unmarked network.
