Prospect Hill Orchards in Milton: Clarke family farm for 200 years with three u-pick locations and a barn distillery pouring spirits from fruit.
The Clarke family has farmed this land above the Hudson for over 200 years, and Prospect Hill now operates as a working u-pick spread across three locations. Hilltop Farm (340 Milton Turnpike) has sweet and sour cherries from mid-June through July and peaches through August. Homestead Farm (73 Clarks Lane) grows traditional apples and pears from mid-September into October, while Clarke's Family Farm in Modena handles organic apples and pumpkins during the same autumn window.
A severe frost this April knocked out most of the early cherries, apricots, and plums; if you're planning a midsummer visit, plan around peaches instead.
