This small stone country church, built in 1922 on land John D. Rockefeller Sr. donated, sits tucked into the hills above Tarrytown with nothing on the outside to suggest what's inside. Above the altar hangs Henri Matisse's Rose Window, a wash of yellow, pale green, and blue. The artist finished the design just two days before he died in November 1954; it's his last completed work.
