Weed Orchards & Winery in Marlboro: a fifth-generation farm with July-to-October picking, a weekends-only tasting room, and frozen espresso martinis.
Weed Orchards is a fifth-generation family farm and winery on more than 100 acres in Marlboro, about 72 miles from the city. The u-pick fields rotate through the season: apples and peaches in high summer, pumpkins and zinnias by early fall. Picking hours follow whatever's ripe, so call or check the website before driving out for a specific fruit.
The winery itself only runs Saturday and Sunday, 11 AM to 5 PM.
