Dr. Lucy Virginia Meriweather Davies bought this land in 1891, and her family has farmed it ever since. The orchards we walk through today sit on the same 65 acres, now tended by the fifth generation. The farm stand stocks fresh-picked seasonal produce, potted flowers, and local artisan goods, but most people come for the orchard itself: pick-your-own apples on weekends and select weekdays from September into October, a hayride out to the fields, a corn maze with a new layout every year, and pumpkin picking once the apples wind down.
