Dutchess Biercafe in Fishkill pours 16 taps of Belgian and Belgian-style ale in a chalet-like room with a beer garden out back.
A small, family-run room on Main Street that takes its Belgian program seriously without turning it into a museum piece. Sixteen taps rotate through abbey ales and lambics (Chimay, Rochefort, St. Bernardus, and De Garre have all poured here), and the bottle list goes further into rare, small-batch imports for anyone who wants to keep going.
The kitchen takes the Belgian playbook (mussels steamed in a broth built for dipping bread, frites, poutine, brussels sprouts) and layers on American comfort food, including a burger that keeps people coming back on nights they hadn't planned to eat Belgian at all.
Happy hour runs Wednesday and Thursday 4 to 6pm and Friday and Saturday 3 to 5pm, with a second window 8 to 10pm on those nights, offering half off cocktails, beer, and wine.
