Basilica Hudson is a solar-powered 1880s factory on the Hudson waterfront. Melissa Auf der Maur and Tony Stone took it over in 2010 when Patrick Doyle, the building's previous owner, asked them to rescue it from vacancy. She had been a bassist for Hole and Smashing Pumpkins; he was a filmmaker. Fifteen years later, the raw brick, metal beams, and factory windows hold concerts, film screenings, and marketplace events without needing much beyond a PA and some lighting.
