Klocke Estate grows its own apples and grapes across 160 acres in Claverack (the mailing address is Hudson), turning them into brandy, vermouth, and eaux-de-vie using copper alembic stills you can see up close on a guided distillery tour. The property opened to the public in 2024 after six years of planting and construction, but the aging cellars and surrounding vineyard rows already feel settled into the hillside.
Daytime brings crêpes and cocktails at the Sidecar bar on the South Lawn (open noon to 4pm Wednesday through Sunday), where wildflower meadows and the Catskills spread out in front of you. In the evening, the Salon serves a seasonal, ingredient-driven menu paired with the estate's own spirits, and a rotating Brandy Table dinner series (Gascony one month, Normandy or Jerez the next) pairs a regional three-course menu with the brandy tradition of that place.
