Hurds is a 125-acre working orchard just off the Thruway, about 90 minutes north of the city, built for a full day with kids. The wristband system shapes what you do: a $5 Pick-Your-Own Express gets you into the orchard with one hayride, a $19 VIP adds a cow train ride and mini-zipline plus a new-every-year corn maze, and a $34 Ultimate makes the zipline, cow train, and animal feeding unlimited. In fall, we pick from 24 apple varieties among the rows; pre-picked bags are available for anyone who wants to skip the ladder work.
Beyond the orchard, there's a playground, bounce pillow, obstacle course, and a petting area where kids can get close to the farm animals.
