Santa Fe Tivoli's front porch is Tivoli's best seat on warm evenings. David Weiss opened after Mexico travels and serves seared ahi tuna tacos.
David Weiss, a recent Bard College graduate, spent months traveling around Mexico before opening Santa Fe in Tivoli more than two decades ago. He still owns the place. The restaurant occupies a visible Broadway spot with a front porch built for people-watching and soaking in Tivoli's bohemian atmosphere the same way Weiss soaked in Mexico.
The menu holds to what Weiss learned on the road: tacos (pulled pork, al pastor), enchiladas, ceviche, burritos, and salsas built around a handful of good ingredients rather than a long list of them.
