Stone Ridge Orchard has been farmed for two centuries on 115 acres of the Rondout Valley, and the operation still runs at that scale: a farm stand open daily from May through December, 9am to 6pm, stocked with cider, jams, baked goods, and produce grown a few hundred feet from the register.
U-pick starts around Labor Day weekend with apples and Asian pears, then widens through fall to raspberries and pumpkins; blueberries come earlier in summer. The farm also runs an organic CSA from June through November for anyone who'd rather get a weekly box than fill their own basket. U-pick hours run 10am to 5pm, an hour later start than the farm stand, so don't show up at 9 expecting the orchard gates open.
