Santa Fe Restaurant in Tivoli has poured frozen margaritas since 1987, the original location before Kingston and Woodstock expanded the brand.
David Weiss opened Santa Fe in 1987 after trips to Mexico hooked him on the food, and the Broadway storefront in Tivoli is the original, the one before Kingston and Woodstock came along. Frozen margaritas, enchiladas, carne asada, and pulled pork tacos have been on the menu from the start, and the kitchen takes the margarita program as seriously as the food.
The dining room runs young and loud, an energetic mix of Bard students and longtime locals that spills across the small front porch on warm evenings, conversation drifting from table to table as the night goes on. Doors open at 4pm.
