Apple Dave's started in 1949, when Donald and Dorothy Hull bought 130 acres in the Warwick Valley. Their son David planted the first trees in 1950 and harvested his first crop in 1955, returning from military service to begin the work. Today 118 acres are split between orchard, vegetable ground, and a working distillery.
The u-pick operation began in 1975 as an emergency.
