Bank Square Coffeehouse in Beacon serves as the town's social anchor, with a seasonal patio and coffee roasted at the Behneys' own Trax roastery.
Bank Square opened in 2008 in the old Muddy Cup space. It was the second business from Beacon owners Buddy and Katy Bell Behney, who had opened the outdoor-gear shop Mountain Tops Outfitters in 2006. The coffeehouse sits at a prominent Main Street corner and still functions as the town's social anchor, the place where people gather to work, catch up, or sit with a coffee and not much of an agenda.
The beans are roasted by Trax, the Behneys' own roastery (their third Beacon business, launched in 2017): pour-overs, espresso drinks, cold brew, chai lattes, and hot chocolate all start from that same roast.
