Meyer's Olde Dutch (MOD to regulars) opened on Main Street in 2017 after chef Brian Arnoff bought the building from Paul Yeaple, who'd run the burger joint Poppy's there. Arnoff named the place for his great-grandfather Meyer Wald, who ran Old Dutch Grocery in Middletown. That corner-shop sense runs through everything: he sources beef from local farms and makes the sauces in-house, and the coleslaw and the signature fry sauce are what regulars ask for extra of.
The fried chicken sandwich holds its own against anything else in the region.
