Beacon Farmers' Market

The Beacon Farmers Market started in 1994 next to the post office at Veterans Place, moved to the waterfront in 2002, and has been run by Common Ground Farm, a nonprofit CSA farm at the north end of Beacon off Route 9D, since 2016. The market went back to Veterans Place the following year, splitting time between the street in warm weather and the Memorial Building on Main Street in winter, before settling into its current spot at 223 Main Street in 2021, a move that let it grow into the 70-plus-vendor market it is today.

Every Sunday of the year, rain or shine, you'll find multiple farms selling seasonal produce, grass-fed and heritage meats, Hudson Valley cheeses, raw honey, jams, smoked trout, baked goods, plants, and handmade goods, plus live music most weeks. The market's stated mission, to feed and engage the Beacon community and support local farms, shows up in practice. SNAP, FMNP, and WIC benefits are all accepted, so the market works for whoever walks up, from people using benefit programs to those paying full retail.

Arrive early if you want first pick of the produce, especially in high summer. Parking is on Main Street or in the nearby municipal lots, and most vendors take cash or card.
