Farmers Markets

The Hudson Valley grows a lot of its own food, and the farmers markets here are where that abundance shows up. We've listed twenty-four markets across the region—from Beacon south to Warwick, and across to Millerton—most happening Saturday mornings but also sprinkled through the week: Thursday evenings in Poughkeepsie, Wednesday afternoons in Coxsackie and Cornwall, Friday afternoons in Goshen. A few run year-round. The markets themselves vary wildly: bare-bones produce stands on government lawns, others drawing live musicians and filling downtown streets. Cold Spring and Hudson have become destinations. What they share is vendors who actually farm here, and a real sense of gathering rather than transaction. The Egg Man in Catskill, See and Be Kitchen's sourdough, the seafood boats in Garrison—each market has its regulars.
