A group of Rhinebeck residents founded this market in 1994 in the Village of Rhinebeck's municipal parking lot at 61 East Market Street. More than 30 vendors set up every Sunday from May through December, selling vegetables, raw honey, artisan cheese, fresh bread, cut flowers, and specialty goods like alpaca fiber and pickles. Live music and chef demos run most weekends, along with activities for kids, making it as much a morning out as a grocery run.
Since 2017 the market has matched every dollar of SNAP benefits spent with a Plus token, doubling what shoppers on assistance can buy.
