For five generations since 1899, the Fix family has run these 500 acres rolling in green waves toward the Catskills. Wholesale apple orchards give way to smaller pick-your-own blocks near the road.
Sweet cherries open the season in June, followed within weeks by red sour cherries (Montmorency) and black sour cherries (English Morello). Each comes as a separate picking, all $3 a pound, cash or check only.
