Le Perche Bakery and Bar in Hudson bakes in ovens shipped from La Perche, France, and serves from a walled courtyard behind a converted bank.
Le Perche occupies a former bank on Warren Street, but the room to find is the walled garden courtyard behind it: between the main building and the carriage house, topped with a glass roof, seating about fifty on a good day. The original bank's vault doors and soaring ceiling frame the main room, making even a weekday breakfast feel like the occasion it is.
The bakery operates from the two-story carriage house overlooking that garden. The ovens were shipped from La Perche, France, and the flour comes from Wild Hive Farm in Clinton Corners.
