The Half Moon

John McCulloch and Frances Sultan run the Half Moon, the center of Hudson's nightlife, out of one big, open room split cleanly in half: a bar with vintage furniture and neon on one side, a wood-fired pizza operation on the other. They carved out the pizzeria a couple of years back and cut a window between the two halves, so you can order a slice without leaving your barstool.

The pizza holds its own against the bar's reputation: thin-crust with good char, simple toppings done right, plus wings and garlic knots if you're settling in for a while. The drink list runs from well-made classic cocktails to a rotating local beer list, priced for a weeknight rather than a special occasion.
