Sissy's Cafe
Sisters Denee and Shani run Sissy's Cafe in Kingston, building wraps and smoothies from Feather Ridge Farm eggs and Bread Alone loaves since 2012.
The wraps here are oversized and packed tight, smoothies are made to order with real fruit and greens, and salads change with the season. Since 2012, Denee and Shani Francese-Smith have run this Wall Street cafe as a neighborhood kitchen where regulars arrive and are remembered by name and order.
The kitchen sources close to home: eggs from Feather Ridge Farm in Elizaville, dairy from Boice Brothers in Kingston, bread from Bread Alone in Lake Katrine, and kombucha from a Bristol, Vermont brewer on tap. Vegan dishes are built from scratch rather than substituted in, so the plant-based crowd and omnivores all end up ordering from the same short menu.
