Sitting right on the water in the middle of Croton-on-Hudson, the Tavern at Croton Landing works the way a good neighborhood tavern should: busy with weekend brunch families on Saturday and Sunday mornings, equally at home serving a weeknight plate of wings at the bar.
Six wing varieties come through: buffalo in three different heat levels, plus barbecue, Thai, sesame, Jack Daniel's, and garlic parmesan, all cooked so the skin stays crisp under the sauce. The fried artichokes are worth ordering on their own, even if you came for the wings. The lobster roll skews heavy on meat and light on mayo, served with sweet potato fries.
