Birdsall House in Peekskill is a Main Street gastropub with 20 craft beers on tap and a tree-shaded beer garden. Named for a Revolutionary innkeeper.
Birdsall House took over a Main Street building that had been a shot-and-a-beer bar since the 1940s, John Connelly's place, and John Sharp and Tim Reinke reopened it as Birdsall House the weekend of St. Patrick's Day in 2010. The name goes back further: Daniel Birdsall was one of Peekskill's founders, and his tavern down Albany Post Road reportedly hosted George Washington for a night during the Revolution.
