Peekskill Coffee House has felt like the town's living room since 2003. Couches by windows, crepes, and live music keep regulars coming back.
Sunny Cover moved from San Francisco to Peekskill in the early 2000s and was baffled that a town this size didn't have a single café. She partnered with neighbors James Lorr and Laura Gillen to open the Peekskill Coffee House in 2003, starting with just coffee, bagels, and pastries. Sunny bought out her partners in 2009 and became sole owner. She added panini, and in 2012 brought in the crepes, waffles, and smoothies that built its following.
