Grazery
Since 2019, Grazery in New Paltz offers cheese, made-to-order sandwiches, and local cider. It grew from the plant shop that opened that year.
Greg and Melissa Gagne, Hudson Valley natives from Wappingers and Gardiner, ran the Red Rooster Cafe for seven years before handing it off to open something new inside Water Street Market. They took over the space The Cheese Plate occupied since 2002. They planned to open a plant and flower shop with a café, nothing more, but customers made clear during the transition they weren't ready to lose the cheese case. So Grazery, which opened in August 2019, became something hybrid: part cheese counter, part flower shop, part sandwich stand, all under one register.
