Jenkins-Lueken has grown fruit on Yankee Folly Road for more than 50 years, on a stretch of land between downtown New Paltz and the base of the Shawangunk escarpment. Picking apples means doing it with the Mohonk fire tower on the ridge in front of you. The u-pick rotates through raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries in summer, then Northern Spy, Macoun, Evercrisp, and Empire apples plus pumpkins and gourds in fall.
The farm stand stays open year-round, stocked with fresh-picked produce in season, pies ready to eat or frozen to take home, an apple cider slushy machine that gets a workout on hot fall weekends, and local honey.
